Thorpeness Golf Club have a unique opportunity for an apprentice greenkeeper to join their current greens team studying a Level 2 Greenkeeping Apprenticeship.

Hourly pay | £6.40

40 hours per week (32 pw at work and equivalent of 8 pw of study)

Overall Job Purpose:

To maintain the golf course and grounds to the required standards. To always follow health and safety procedures and guidelines at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

Customer Focus:

• Be friendly and polite to customers at all times.
• Offer assistance to guests and customers where appropriate.
• Make Course Manager aware of any problems as soon as possible.
• Keep the golf course and grounds tidy and free from rubbish at all times.

Key Tasks:

• Maintain the golf course and grounds as directed by the Course Manager.
• Use all equipment especially cutting equipment, machinery and chemicals as instructed, always following health and safety procedures.
• Wear/use protective equipment as required.
• Store machinery and equipment tidily, safely and securely.
• Report any faults or damage to machinery as soon as possible.

Key Performance Measures:

• Golf course standards are met.
• Guest comments/feedback.

Special Requirements:

• Attend training sessions as required.
• Follow instructions to work in required manner, safely and effectively.
• Be able to work flexibly – working shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
