HR Manager

Salary of £45,000 per year

The Hotel Folk is a family-owned hotel business consisting of six hotels across the county of Suffolk, UK.

We currently have a rare opportunity for a HR Manager to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This role is based on a working week of 40 hours per work with an ideal working pattern of Monday to Friday.

This hands-on role requires the candidate to cover all six hotels within the group. Based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, you will be required to travel to, and work within all six hotels as and when needed.

The position reports directly to an ambitious and driven CEO who truly understands the importance of HR within the organisation. It will require you to have experience of managing change and working at a senior level as you would be part of the Executive team and manage our “Hotel Folk” of circa 360, alongside a flexible consultancy resource driven by seasonal activity.

Part of the role of HR Manager will be to lead, support and develop the existing HR department for the Company, you will be the main expert in all areas of HR and Employment law, providing effective and efficient HR advice and have responsibility for the effective delivery of all areas of recruitment, employee relations, people management, compensation & benefits, and employee well-being.

You will oversee the entire recruitment process from job advertisements and employee documentation including contracts and new starter paperwork, variation and contract letters etc and work very closely with the Group Training and Development Manager for all on-boarding and induction of new hotel “Folk”.

As HR Manager, you will have the knowledge of what is happening within the business to assist with the monthly payroll process and submit relevant management information and financial information as needed. You will manage and update the internal HR system - Rotaready used for time and attendance and FLOW used as our internal communication and training platform.

We are looking for you to manage the implementation and continuous development of all HR policies and procedures, ensuring that these are applied in a consistent and fair manner, and help ensure that the Company is fully compliant in all areas of employment law while introducing new policies to ensure compliance with best practice and UK employment law changes.

What skills will you have?

  • CIPD Level 5 in HR, and/or equivalent experience is essential.
  • High Emotional Intelligence is required.
  • Experience of working within Hospitality is desirable but not essential.
