Vacancy for: Payroll Administrator

The Hotel Folk, a group of 6 individual family run hotels all located within Suffolk, are currently looking for a  part-time Payroll Administrator  to join their Head Office team. 

About the job:

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be required to work approximately 16 hours per week however on payroll week you may be required to work slightly longer. As a forward-thinking business, The Hotel Folk are happy to allow flexibility around your working pattern and this can be discussed upon successful application. 

We operate using a Time and Attendance system whereby hours worked by the employees are automatically submitted and employees/line managers will enter holiday and absences. Your role will be to oversee this process, resolve queries, check for discrepancies before submitting to a 3rd party payroll service provider. You will process monthly absence costs, prepare and submit pension contributions whilst ensuring that statutory and company policy requirements are adhered to at all times. 

What you'll need to succeed:

In order for you to be able to provide advice and support to employees, you will need to have a detailed understanding of current payroll legislation including SPP, SMP, PAYE, TAX, NI, Attachment of Earnings, Sick Pay, Holiday Pay, Bonuses, Pensions and Furlough. You will be first point of contact for the 3rd party payroll service provider and will be on-hand to resolve any issues in a timely manner. You will have a solid background in payroll administration and it will be an added bonus if you hold a recognised payroll qualification.
