Vacancy for: Golf Services Assistant

The Hotel Folk have a fantastic opportunity for a Golf Services Assistant to join their friendly and professional team at Thorpeness Golf Club & Hotel. This role is on a part-time basis, which is likely to be Thursday to Saturday. Any other days of the week will be by mutual agreement.

Overall Job Purpose:

To assist and support the Golf Operations Manager, Head Professional and other members of the Golf Department in providing a good service to members, hotel guests and visitors.

Customer Focus:

  • Build good relations with members
  • Assist with hotel guest requirements
  • Work with the Golf Operations Manager, and other departments to ensure an excellent standard of communication and service is provided

Key Tasks:

  • Manage the first tee, starting golfers at the appropriate tee time. Welcome visitors and pass on relevant information about the course and club
  • Communicate with visitors to ensure that they understand and adhere to the dress code, code of conduct, and pace of play
  • Ensure that visitors have paid the appropriate green fees before they play golf and that members have registered their rounds in the pro shop
  • Be pro-active in the upselling of products and services to maximize customer spend
  • Responsible for patrolling the golf course to ensure that the pace of play is satisfactory
  • Familiarize yourself with the stock and equipment for sale in the pro shop
  • Responsible for the presentation and maintenance of the hire equipment, golf carts, electric trollies and pull trollies
  • Be aware of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Fire Safety procedures

  • Guests, members, and visitors' feedback

Special Requirements:

  • Be able to work flexibly - working shifts, weekends and bank holidays as required
